Captivating

Okay I just found this picture of my daughter, Emily. I didn't even know about it. She's amazing. I just had to put this up because it makes me happy! It is a bit of an odd pose, I think she's laying down , hugging a pillow. Young girls and their pics. Who knew.Posted by PicasaOh ya, and she'll probably get mad when she finds out I posted it, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Ooh Groovy Colors

I love the way these color challenges bring my thinking out of the box. This one is my favorite so far. I would have never dreamed of throwing these colors together but the result is fabulous and modern and ....oh what is the word I want? I will come up with it eventually. Anyway, my card is made up of black, gray (non SU), Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss paper. I used gray and black inks. The stamp is the outline of one from the "Check It Out" set and the sentiment from the Dreams du Jour. I made the stencil myself for the funky shape and used the mat pack and piercing tool, of course. Kristina Werner's Blog is one of my faves! She inspires me:) Thanks for looking!

KWerner Color Challenge #18

My take on Kristina Werner's latest color inspiration challenge. I loved working with these cheerful colors. It made me think "Youth", "Fun", "College Dorm". I just dig the bedding from Cb2, I'm off to browse the online catalog but not before posting the recipe: Paper: Black, Green galore, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red. I used Cuttlebug dies in my Wizard to cut the flowers, then glittered the rose red ones, and black embossed the little one. Inks: Colorbox black pigment ink, Clear embossing powder. Stamp from SU 'For a Friend'. Thank you for looking!

Steps

So far I know my blog is really BLaaaaaHg! I am taking on so many new things in my life right now, it's crazy! I am waiting for Kristina Werner to post another challenge. One per week is about all I can handle right now. That is primarily why I created this blog, although who knows what it could become.

I have recently began an online course in Medical Transcription with Career Step. It is going to be taking up a huge chunk of my time, but that's okay! I have been primarily a SAHM for 17 years but now that my first (of three) chicks is fixin' to leave the nest, I am acting on what I can do for me and how I can help pay for college.

Studying and learning a new skill will also serve to keep me busy and otherwise focused as my husband has recently deployed overseas. This will be our third separation as a military family, so you'd think we'd be old pro's, but it's not like that at all. It will be challenging, but we have faith that the Lord has our best interests in mind at all times!

Learn more about Career Step here. They offer education/certification in both Medical Transcription and Medical coding, and is headquartered at what I refer to as the Mecca of all things stamping and scrapbooking-Utah!

Im going to also posting a new picture just because....well, I can, and I like pictures! This garden gate is in the town of Guejar Sierra, near Granada, Spain. It's a shame about the swastika spray painted on it, huh? Ciao for now!
